Melissa is a graduate of the University of Findlay in Ohio where she obtained her Bachelor of Science in Biology with an emphasis in small and large animal medicine. She has at least eight years experience in the field of veterinary medicine ranging from grooming and kennel technician to surgical technician. The University of Findlay has an extensive clientele who entrust the care of their large animals to the students at the university. This is where Melissa learned many skills such as castrations and animal husbandry for many species, mostly horses and sheep.
Melissa is married to a soldier in the U. S. Army stationed at Ft. Stewart and they are expecting their first child in June. They live in Richmond Hill and have an adorable Australian Shephard named Riley and a cat named Junot, a rescue from the Ft. Stewart animal shelter. Riley was the runt of the litter that was not being fed by his mother and Melissa took him in from the breeder to help nurse him back to health. He is now three years old and loving life with his best friend Junot.
